The camera used is a Yashica SLR with Ektachrome slide film. The slides were converted to digital using a home made light box and camera stand holding a Nikon L-19 camera.

A different view of the Quality Control Laboratory.
Note the sand covered beakers on the wall
to the left. Everything in here was like that
before extensive cleaning. The treating company
did NO routine quality control!
This is why buyers of treated wood products
hired us to do quality control for them.

The Quality Control Laboratory is the shack
to the left of my 1969 Karmin Ghia.
The treating department is farther
towards the right background.

Rail tracks leading to the treating

The black objects on the rail tracks are
tram cars which are used to transport the
utility poles into the treating cylinders.

It is another of the 'portable' or
small locomotive type boilers.

A preservative (pentachlorophenol) storage tank.
Note the pipe coupler hanging on a small cable
about half way up. This is attached to a float
within the tank and is a very rough indication
of the level of preservative within.

For the most part, the amount of preservative
retained in a charge of treated wood, was just
a guess!

The temperature got below freezing so
the crew built a warming fire. A front
end loader is in the background.
